Acetate

Fine, almost papery artificial textile with a silk-like shimmer. The chemically produced fibre, made using the dry spinning process, consists of natural polymers similar to polyester and nylon, differing only in their building blocks (= monomers). Unlike silk, acetate wrinkles less quickly, absorbs minimal moisture, and is prone to static electricity. Due to its high sensitivity to heat, it should not be ironed at high temperatures or treated in a dryer. It is mainly used as lining material or for lightweight summer clothing like blouses.

Acrylic

Is acrylic a synthetic fibre? Acrylic is the abbreviation for polyacrylonitrile and is also known as polyacryl. The base material polyacrylonitrile is processed through chemical procedures to create the synthetic fibre acrylic. An advancement of this fibre is modacrylic, which exhibits an even softer and fluffier texture.

The fibre can be processed either in its pure form or as a blend with cotton or wool. When blended with other fibres, acrylic has an anti-felting effect.

Acrylic closely resembles wool in appearance and properties. The fabric is softskin-friendlybreathablevirtually wrinkle-free, and provides warmth. Additionally, it is highly resistant to light, making it suitable for various items, including headwear.

As the material does not tolerate heat well, textiles made of acrylic or containing acrylic should not be washed in the machine at temperatures hotter than 40 degrees and should only be air-dried.

Andalusian

What is an Andalusian Hat? The Andalusian hat, also known as the Caballero hat, is a black felt hat. Its shape somewhat resembles that of a circular saw hat, as it has a round form, a low crown, and a wide brim. Often, the hat is additionally adorned with a hatband of the same colour wrapped around the crown and secured there. Some models also feature a chin strap to prevent the Andalusian hat from slipping. This hat style is available in almost every size, allowing it to be chosen to fit one's head circumference.

The hat is best known as the hat of the Caballeros, which translates to "knights" or "bandits." From books of the 1920s and various films, the Andalusian hat holds a symbolic significance as the hat of the people's avenger. It is often seen in movies and as a costume, combined with a black cloak and a dark blindfold. However, the elegant Andalusian hat has now evolved into a versatile everyday hat that can be worn in various styles. The hat's distinctive style always attracts attention and elevates even simple outfits into something special.
