Hat Care

At Hats24, you’ll find a wide selection of accessories. With our care and protection products, you can restore your favorite accessory’s shine—and thanks to our high-quality hat cases, you won’t have to go without your hat when you travel.
Hat Box
A hat box is ideal for storing your hat and makes transporting it easier. Thanks to its stylish design, it can also serve as a decorative piece. Please note the following to ensure your hat is stored properly and protected as well as possible:
- First, measure the highest and widest point of the hat.
- The hat’s dimensions should be slightly smaller than those of the box so it fits perfectly without being squashed or shifting too much.
- Place the hat in the box with the brim facing down and close the box.
- Make sure the brim does not bend so it retains its shape. For hats with a downward-curving brim, it is recommended to add padding so the hat sits higher and the brim is not permanently deformed.
Chin Strap for Western Hat
Our chin strap for western hats is a practical accessory that enhances both style and functionality. It helps keep the hat securely on your head and also allows you to wear it around your neck when not in use.
Below are step-by-step instructions on how to attach the chin strap. Please note that it can only be used with western hats that have two eyelets per side.
- Starting from the inside of the hat, thread the chin strap outward through the back rivet.
- Tie a knot on the inside end.
- Thread the strap through the front rivet on the same side of the hat.
- Bring the strap to the opposite side and thread it from the inside to the outside through the corresponding rivet.
- Then thread it again from the outside to the inside through the back rivet next to the front rivet.
- Tie a firm knot at the end.
- Using the stopper and the loop created, you can now adjust the length of the strap.
Stretch It Hat Stretcher
Our practical hat stretcher allows you to resize hats that have tightened over time and no longer fit comfortably. High humidity and rain can cause felt or straw hats in particular to shrink. It can also be used to slightly stretch hats that were a bit too small to begin with.
The hat stretcher can increase the width by up to 1 cm. To achieve the best results without damaging the hat, please note:
- For brittle materials such as straw, lightly moisten them beforehand to make them more flexible and durable.
- Insert the hat stretcher into the hat. By turning the center rod, you can expand it evenly in both directions.
- Once you feel slight tension and the hat no longer slips off the stretcher, the fit is ideal. Caution: Too much tension can damage the material.
- Keep the stretcher as straight as possible at the point where the brim meets the crown.
- Leave the stretcher in the hat overnight for best results. If needed, the process can be repeated.
Suitable for the following materials:
- Cotton
- Fur felt
- Leather
- Linen
- Nubuck leather
- Panama straw
- Straw
- Suede
- Wool felt
Hat Brush
Our practical textile brush is ideal for removing dirt from your felt hat. For best results, follow these steps:
- Place the brush on the hat.
- Using light pressure, brush along the surface.
- For fur felt or other felts with longer fibers, brush in the direction of the grain or fiber structure.
- Only use the brush when it is dry or with a specially designed care product. If the brush is damp, dirt may be spread rather than removed.
Suitable for the following materials:
- Fur felt
- Wool felt
Cork Inlays
Cork inlays help reduce the hat size by up to 1 cm. They can be used with any hat that has an inner band and are placed behind it.
If you have a longer, narrower head shape, we recommend placing the inlays on the sides. For other head shapes, position them at the front or back to ensure a secure and comfortable fit.
