Measuring Instructions – Step by Step

To determine your glove size, you’ll need a measuring tape or a piece of string and a ruler.

  1. Keep your hand open and slightly bent.
  2. Wrap the measuring tape or string around the widest part of your hand.
  3. Make sure the tape runs just above the base of your thumb (the thumb is not included).
  4. Measure comfortably—neither too tight nor too loose.
  5. Read your hand circumference and compare it with the size chart.

Example: A hand circumference of 22 cm corresponds to a size 8 glove—typically a women’s size L and a men’s size M.

Glove Sizes for Women, Men, and Children

While the measuring process is the same, glove sizes are categorized differently for women, men, and children.

For example, a hand circumference of 19 cm equals a unisex size 7, which corresponds to:

  • Men’s size S
  • Women’s size M
  • Children’s size XL

Please note:

  • Children’s sizes typically start at 15 cm
  • Women’s sizes start at approximately 15.5 cm
  • Men’s sizes start at approximately 19 cm
  • Many gloves are unisex and suitable for all adults
  • Men with smaller hands may also find suitable styles in the women’s range
  • Women with larger hands may find a better fit in the men’s range

The most important factor is always a comfortable fit that provides adequate protection.

International Glove Size Standards

Our size chart includes international size conversions. While centimeters are commonly used in Europe, glove sizes in the United States are often expressed in inches or as letter sizes such as S, M, or XL.

What Glove Size Matches a Child’s Age?

We recommend measuring your child’s hand circumference for the most accurate fit. However, if that’s not possible, the following guidelines may help:

  • An 8-year-old typically wears size 4 (approx. 15 cm)
  • An 11-year-old typically wears size 6 (approx. 17 cm)

Please note that these are average values and may vary depending on the child.

What Should I Consider When Choosing Gloves?

As shown in the size chart, gloves are often available in half sizes. If your measurement falls between two sizes, we recommend rounding up.

Example:
If a woman has a hand circumference of 18.5 cm, she falls between sizes 6.5 and 7. In this case, size 7 is the better choice.

This also applies when choosing thicker gloves. The size chart can be used for all types of gloves, including knit gloves, fingerless gloves, and mittens.

Size Variations Between Manufacturers

Glove sizes may vary slightly depending on the brand, as different manufacturers use different cuts and designs. There is no universal sizing standard, so sizes serve as a general guideline.

Variations are usually minimal and typically amount to about half a size.
