How Do I Find the Right Hat Size for Me?
Hats24 makes it easy to find the right hat size. Measuring your head circumference is the first step for both adults and children. Ideally, use a tape measure, but you can also use a piece of string:
- Stand in front of a mirror to ensure accurate measurement.
- Wrap the measuring tape around the middle of the back of your head and about 1 cm above your ears, continuing across your forehead.
- Bring the tape measure or string together at the center of your forehead without pulling it too tight.
- Read your head circumference in the mirror. If you don’t have a mirror, simply note where the tape meets.
If using a piece of string or twine, mark the point where it meets, then measure it against a ruler to determine your head size.
Our tip: If you prefer to wear your hat lower on your head, add about 1 cm to your measurement. Always round up to the next whole number. For example, if your measurement is 59.5 cm, round up to 60 cm.
You can then use our size chart to determine your size. We also provide a separate chart for children up to eight years old. Both charts include conversions between US, UK, and international sizes.
If your new hat is slightly too large, you can use cork inserts to reduce the size. Simply place them underneath the inner band on the sides of the hat.
