How to Measure Your Cap Size

Quick Measuring Guide

  1. Stand in front of a mirror and locate the widest part of your head—usually the middle of your forehead at the front and the bump at the back.
  2. Wrap a measuring tape around your head, passing over these points and about 1 cm above your ears.
  3. Adjust the tape to your preferred fit—snug, but not too tight.
  4. Check the measurement in centimeters—that’s your cap size.

Tip: No measuring tape on hand? Use a piece of string instead, then measure it with a ruler or yardstick.

New Era Cap Sizes – What to Know

New Era is best known for its fitted caps—especially the iconic 59Fifty.

  • Sizes follow the US sizing system (e.g., 7 1/4, 7 1/2) and correspond to head circumference
  • Sizing may vary slightly depending on the model
  • A dedicated size chart is available for certain styles
  • For all other models, the general size chart above applies

Tip: Measure your head as accurately as possible and round up if you’re between sizes—for example, 55.5 cm becomes 56 cm (New Era size 7).
